Is Pele calling or am I trippin’?

You have to admit, there is a lot of mental illness going around these days from mild to scary.  I think every one of us suffer from a little craziness – you know, that voice in your head that is talking at you almost all the time.

Becoming aware that this voice exists and recognizing that it is not even necessarily ME was a big revelation.  There is a presence beyond that voice that observes.  Who is that?  Did you ever wonder or ask yourself about that inner presence from beyond the deep?  Some call it intuition, Supersoul, Godself, Higher Self…feel free to let me know your term for it, I’m interested.

Being a humble soul, I have to check myself periodically and make sure I’m not drifting off the path of sanity too drastically.

I’ve been living on the mainland for the last 3 months and it’s starting to dawn on me that I’m missing…the island, yes…but something more…the mana? Her?  It feels so strong like it’s in my bones.  Like I can’t breathe sometimes.  It’s a pain in my soul to be so far away.  When I come into contact with anything related to Hawaii – the word “Aloha” or the Hula Dancers at the Bar Mitzfah I attended 2 weekends ago, it’s all I can do to not start weeping!  Tears fill in my eyes and I feel like I MUST return.  Why the emotion?

What an odd phenomena of palpable intangible-ness.  From whence does this urge to be one with the island come?  Am I delusional?  I know some of you out there think polytheism is wrong…that Pele is just a myth (I’m talking to the Rastafarians that make their home on the island in particular, though I also have studied this belief in the New Translation Bible with the Jehovah’s Witnesses).

This is not simply having a case of homesickness.  Gainesville, Florida is actually my hometown, to which I am fiercly loyal and ever shall be all the days of my life!

This call to the Big Island – is it REAL?  Or is it a concept developed by a some of aeiry-fairy haoles trying to justify their populous take over of the Hawaiian’s beautiful paradasical home?

Welcoming your thoughts…

P.S. I have to say I DO NOT miss the Tourists though! In fact I think visitor numbers to the islands need to be CAPPED.  Don’t even DARE to give me the “economy” as a reason to let these ignoramous people continue to trample what is good.

A Breath of Fresh Air…any Pele theories?

It’s a relief that the winds have come and cleared much of the Vog away.  Residents of the Big Island were beginning to worry if they would ever see the sun again.  Blue skies…oh how beautiful they are to see!  Is anybody else wondering what’s going on with Pele?  I’d be interested if anyone out there has any information on Pele prophecy a.k.a “Hawaiian mysticism and lore”.  One theory I’ve heard is that Pele was smoking a fatty.  It’s a no wonder – I honestly believe most people should be partaking of some herbal medication in order to better transmute the negative energy generated by current world events happening…it ain’t no joke, folk!

Current events that need your loving attention and care:

I’m sure many of you have heard about the Earthquake in China – they believe over 18,000 people were buried…there still may be people alive in the rubble and that seems like an awful way to die.

Burma / Myanamar – this humananitarian crisis (I hate to even give it a glossy label because it is really an atrocious, treacherous situation that really squeezes my heart hard) is almost too horrible to think about.  A lot of love and light pouring out from my superConscious-ChristLike self as my heart goes out to those suffering – babies, children, mommies, the old, the sick and the ones that have to live with these memories.  Bless them Father-Mother God, that their tears will forever be wiped from their eyes at the great Return of Heavenly rule.

Fellow SKY – I beg of you, do not deny, look the beast straight in his eye and laugh at him.  Tell him – I am a witness of the things that are coming to pass, and I know that the Divine Will is being done.  You will not win!

Send me back your theories on Pele’s smoke stack.  What’s the lady up to?

Pure Inspiration ~ Paula Fuga & Co. ~ Singing the Truth

The amount of estrogen in the room was intoxicating 🙂 Bravo to the brave men that were there representing the testosterone contingent! A special shout-out to the 3 men that were dancing with the 50 women grooving to Paula, as she crooned with her reggae band until 10:15 pm.

I got there a bit late with my crew, Emily, Talia, Lulie and Isaiah. Climbing PoeTree, a conscious spokenword duo from Brooklyn, comprised to hottie girls Alixa and Naima (and I mean DAMN hot) were already performing when we got in the door. Due to rain the event was moved indoors.

We all gravitated toward the “front row” (standing room only), plopped our asses down and got a serious mental, spiritual and physical work-over as these girls articulated profound, moving Truth. Showcasing awesome stage presence, these girls were shredding our mental notions and concepts, while reminding us of our enormous blessing to live here in Hawaii, Paradise. I thought to myself – these chicks have a paradise of artistic expression inside themselves! Perhaps that’s one effect of living on a street with only 5 trees – one develops the capacity for a new world from within.

A reminder to all to be Thankful you live in Hawaii, don’t become complacent, use the blessing of constant communion with nature to inspire yourselves. Reach out to your brothers and sisters around the world and be a part of the revolution now.

Check out Climbing PoeTree at http://www.myspace.com/climbingpoetree or www.climbingpoetree.com

Next we were treated to Sparlha Swa, also from Brooklyn, singing with a voice like the deepest, richest, tastiest chocolate bar you ever had.  Gorgeous woman.  While she has her own unique sound and voice, I’m sure she’s already experienced being compared to India Arie.  Her songs were deep, soulful, thoughtful, a real treat.  I thought it’d be nice to have her as my mother, singing  me the sweetest lullabies ever.  I knew I’d want to listen to her again and again, so I bought her CD.

Sparlha Swa can be found online @  http://www.myspace.com/sparlhaswa

Paula, in a beautiful pale yellow dress designed by Kealopiko Designs, looked like a Hawaiian Goddess, a True Queen.  And she rocked it.  She’s got  an incredible voice, I wanna compare her strength to Aretha Franklin, though the style of music is different.

For me personally, it was an emotional night.  I laughed, I cried, I danced to the rhythm of the high-hat.   I left feeling uplifted, inspired and eternally grateful to the awesomeness of Paula Fuga and the Lilikoi Foundation.
